Step 1: Initial Filling (1st Fill)
● Before TBM launch, manually fill all gaps between wire brush rows with WR-89T trowel grade. This is the foundation of the sealing system. Any voids left during initial filling will be enlarged by water pressure during excavation.
● Fill between each brush row thoroughly, no blind spots
● Reference: 25–40 kg per brush row, depending on TBM diameter
● Inspect each row after filling, confirm no voids before assembly
Step 2: Continuous Injection During Excavation
● During TBM advance, continuously pump WR-89P into the shield tail gap via automatic grease pump. The grease is pressed into brush gaps under pressure, merging with the initial WR-89T fill to form a continuous dynamic seal.
● 0.2–0.5 MPa / Injection pressure: 0.2–0.5 MPa above external water/grout pressure
● Dosage: 8–15 kg per ring, depending on diameter and ground conditions
● Caution: Monitor injection pressure continuously; sudden pressure drop may indicate brush deformation or damage
● Increase fiber content grade for high-permeability ground
