● Wellhead — demulsifier injected at the wellhead utilizes pipeline turbulence for in-transit breaking, achieving partial dehydration by the time crude reaches the central station
● Central station three-phase separators — dosed upstream of separators to accelerate oil-water separation and increase throughput
● Electric dehydrators — used as pre-treatment to reduce water cut to ≤0.5% before electrostatic dehydration
● Refinery desalting — injected upstream of desalters to remove salts and impurities from crude oil
● Heavy oil and polymer-flood fluids — customized formulations for viscous and polymer-containing crudes
Dosing Guidelines
Demulsifier performance is highly crude-specific — the same model may perform differently in different oilfields. Indoor bottle testing with field crude samples is recommended before application. Compare dehydration rate, oil-in-water content and interface clarity across different models and dosages to select the optimal formulation.
