● Sour oil and gas wells — inhibits H2S acid corrosion on tubing and downhole equipment, preventing sulfide stress cracking (SSC)
● CO2-EOR production — protects pipelines and equipment from CO2 corrosion in enhanced oil recovery fluids
● Gathering and transportation pipelines — maintains protective film on pipe inner walls during long-distance transport
● Water injection systems — protects injection lines and water treatment equipment from high-salinity produced water corrosion
● Refinery overhead — inhibits HCl dew-point corrosion in atmospheric column overhead systems
Dosing Guidelines
The corrosion inhibitor is continuously injected into pipelines or wellbore via chemical injection pumps. For initial application, a "pre-filming" treatment at 2-3 times the normal dosage is recommended (typically 24-48 hours) to rapidly establish the protective film on metal surfaces, followed by transition to the maintenance dosage. The injection point should be at the pipeline inlet or wellhead to ensure adequate dispersion in the fluid.
